Review Time: A Few Mascara's I Love

Review Time: A Few Mascara's I Love

Since I was on the topic of mascara, I decided to add to my list of favorites.

Christmas is coming up (or you're one of the 10 people I know with a birthday in December) and you're going to have gift cards to blow.

Let me just suggest this:

Mascara's are kind of pricey, and gift cards are a great way to check some stuff out- ESPECIALLY since most companies usually make travel size versions of their best sellers.

Now if you follow me, you'll know that my personal pick is no surprise.

Jordana: Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
-$2.99
- Great brush
-Dry formula
-Great for natural/bridal/everyday lashes
-Makes you look like you have an insane amount of lashes
If you want the full review, go and check out my post about it!

Clinique: High Impact Mascara
-$16.00
Clinique has a a few pretty great mascaras. This one in particular holds a nice curl, and the formula is pretty mousse-y. Although the brush is nothing new, it does the trick and it makes your lashes look very full and flirty.

Tarte: Lights Camera Lashes
-$19.00
The brush on this one is pretty great. I love that it's tapered at the top. It really helps to get in the hard to reach inner corner without totally smothering your eyelid in mascara. Your lashes will look really flirty and full like the High Impact mascara, but I feel like this one holds on to your lashes a little bit better. The formula is a little thicker which is nice.

L'Oreal: Full Definition Voluminous
-$7.99
This is a great mascara for a more night time, beefed up lash look. With a couple coats, it makes your lashes thick and dark. The formula is a wet one, which is a little much and doesn't hold a curl SUPER well, What I found is if you curl your lashes and apply a thin layer and let it dry first before applying the second coat helps a lot. My real beef with this mascara is that the bristles on the brush are a bit too long. It ends up touching your eyelid and it's kind of annoying and it's not super great for lower lashes- but to be honest when I wear this mascara it's usually with a really thick cat eye liner, so it's not a big deal to me.

Neutrogena: Healthy Lengths

-$7.99
Here's the deal with this mascara. It's a total love/hate situation. I do not like the hard plastic bristle brush at all. Anytime you accidentally touch your eyelid- it feels like you're stabbing your eyeball. The formula is pretty wet too. HOWEVER, it makes your lashes look insanely long. And it coats them in rice proteins, vitamin E, and olive oil so they end up growing longer and stronger. At one point my lashes were so long they would smash up against my glasses. I would maybe suggest wearing this on your off days just to keep your lashes healthy- but I would swap out the brush.

Sephora Lash Stash
-$45.00

OR IF NONE OF THOSE WORK FOR SOME REASON- You should blow your money on one of these kits. They're basically the best of the best and you get to try a ton of mascaras with reckless abandon. There's a few different kit options and sometimes Sephora spices it up by adding a gift certificate in the box to redeem one of the mascaras in the kit in full size. Pretty sweet right?

Merry Christmas, or Happy Birthday! Spend wisely,
