First of all, I had a serious summer cold for awhile and it really knocked me down, then I had some personal stuff going on, then the whole Florida trip happened. It's been insanely busy lately.
In the spirit of not boring you to death, I'm going to separate my random pictures from my Florida ones... also, I have a feeling the Florida post is going to be long.
Roger, Crystal, and I all went to the Fresno Bully Walk, which was amazing and fun- even if it was hot. All of the dogs there were on their best behavior and one of the volunteers running the walk came up to us to say our dogs were extremely well behaved.
I think they were freaked out with Bear because he's a rottweiler. Ignorant people are always scared of him just from his initial looks, but if you watched him for even a second, you'd realize he acts like a big baby. Also, he's probably one of the only dogs I've had that's amazing with children. Did I just blow your mind? You're welcome.
This is my baby Bear.
His favorite thing to do in the car is lay on the air conditioning vents. That's how he sleeps.
...He also likes sticking his head out the window, but what dog doesn't?
The boyfriend did most of the work. I just carried Bear's "diaper bag" (treats, water, etc) and pet on all the dogs.
This is Crystal and her dog, Harvey.
After the walk we went to Mee-maw's to play around for awhile.
Believe it or not, I've cut down my coffee to just one cup a day.
Which sometimes bums me out...
Small rant: So just figured out I don't have "dry" skin, I have "dehydrated" skin, which means my skin doesn't retain water well, and will eat through my moisturizer and makeup. Then by the end of the day, I look like the shiniest person in the world because my body thinks I need more oil- WHICH THEN BREAKS ME OUT. Urghhh, why does my body hate me?!
To add to that rant: It's hard to profess to people that I can do makeup when it looks like I never wear any.
Being in Phase 2 makes me constantly text people with outfit ideas. This picture in particular was about the boots...which I did wear.
I do updos a lot now. They're kind of how I get myself back in the zone after a hard day.
I liked this one in particular because it was so easy and it looks so glam.
This one was cute too, but I feel like it's a little "mother of the bride". You feel me?
So I've been working these series of events called, "For the Fit of It". Basically it's a fitness based fashion show/beauty contest. People can compete each week and if they get enough votes they advance into the finals where they all compete against each other to be the winner.
Each week is different for me. The first week Gabby and I teamed up to do the gal in the picture above. They call her "The Russian" and she is fun and also very intense. Her makeup and hair came out beautifully though. And it turns out Gabby and I actually make a really strong team.
We took this picture after the show. Gabby is the cherub-faced one on the left.
Just for reference because no one seems to know, I actually dress really cute when I don't have to go to school.
Bear is so cute, I couldn't resist adding this picture.
Jae says I don't wear enough eyeliner, so I went really heavy one day.
My brush collection is getting so big lately.
Then I did my friend Allison's hair and makeup for a wedding she was going to. She was a happy camper and we mostly spent the time venting and laughing at people we went to high school with. It was a fun day.
In Phase 2, you get to wear white and whatever color shoes you want, which has been really helping my wardrobe lately. I was getting in a rut!
Then I drove to Crystals on the weekend, where we pretty much laid around and watched documentaries.
And ate cake batter.
OOTD: shopping with mom and going to the movies after.
THEN I HAD PURPLE PUT IN!
It was so damn pretty until my hair started turning brassy and toned out the purple. I have to get it re-done this week.
Our whole school went to see Winn Claybaugh speak at the Concord Paul Mitchell school. It was really fun and he's a wonderful speaker. If you haven't heard him before, you need to youtube it or something. He's incredibly talented and it's nice to hear from someone who gets that being a visionary is something you have to work towards every single day.
Stay tuned for the Florida post,
-SamanthaK
