What the Heck Have I Been Doing?!
YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED A POSTING LAG LATELY.
Things have been happening for sure.
So here's what I've been up to lately:
I'm really into french pressing my coffee like I'm European or something.
Then I got really bogged down and pretty much did nothing for a week. I worked on my blog, redesigned my back yard, drank coffee and caught up on TV. BEING UNEMPLOYED WAS FUN FOR LIKE 2 SECONDS.
But then I finally got the job I'd been wanting for a year now and started working at the salon I've been getting my hair done at for the last 20 years. NOTHING SAYS JOB SECURITY LIKE A SALON BEING OPEN FOR 30 YEARS.
It was all really exciting and I was going to start March 1st, so I thought- I guess I better get in my birthday mini-vacation while I can!
So Roger, our friend Pedro, and my sister in law Dakota all trooped up to Shaver Lake and spent the weekend blissful... also we played Talisman which was really fun and nerdy.
We took Bear too. Roger was being adorable with him and I took a lot of pictures.
By the way, like that sweet sweet haircut on my boyfriend? I DID THAT.
Part of me was super miffed becuase I thought there would be snow and instead it was sunny and beautiful- borderline hot even. A storm blew in and laid down like 10 inches of snow a couple days after we left though.
But I guess it was ok because I had a lot of fun and got some really great pictures of Roger and Bear to use for Christmas cards or something.
(Also, Roger looks insanely like Robert Downey Jr in this picture, it's alarming.)
Mom got me a lipstick and some perfume for my birthday and I have been really enjoying that- as well as my super cool My Little Pony mug roger got me for Valentine's day. BECAUSE MY BOYFRIEND KNOWS WHAT'S UP.
I've also been reading a ton outside while it was weirdly overcast and super warm.
That book, btw is super good. It's about a girl who becomes a sugar baby after her boyfriend dumps her.
AND THEN ROGER'S BIRTHDAY GIFT TO ME CAME IN THE MAIL AND IT WAS INSANE.
The feeties zip off too, you know, in case I want to wear it in public or something?
When I get sick, or I had a bad day- I really like ugly, warm pajamas. I have a set of those old lady matching flannels that have owls all over them AND THEY ARE NOT CUTE. But stuff like this makes me feel better, and knowing Roger stalked through my pinterest to find it makes it actually pretty adorable.
My mom also suprised me with this insanely expensive face mask, but oh man is it good. Amazing even. SEE THE GUNK COMING OUT?! Gross/Awesome. A review is sure to come.
And then I got really weird and started doing nail art even though it's not really a service I offer (except to family members or friends who need a favor). They were really fun- even if I'm not super good at it. I think my favorites are the dream catcher on the left, the Seattle Seahawks french manicure on the right.... and then maybe the little tuxedo- if nothing else than for the sheer adorable-ness of it.
So that's where my time went. PRODUCTIVE, I KNOW, but now that I'm officially in a salon it's going to get a lot busier soon enough.
But don't worry, I'll always make time for you guys,
SamanthaK
